  • A punk for ever

"I am going to get a leather jacket and be a punk for the rest of my life" declared Simon in class today.

"So if I owned a leather jacket would that make me a punk?" I asked.

    "Course not, you're too old"

So there you are, I am officially too old to be a punk :))

    Drats!

  • April Fools day

    Will you be fooling anyone?

There are all sorts of pranks pulled on this day and I am normally the butt of them :DD Remember the prank many years ago where people were told that pasta grew on trees?? Hysterical!!

So, what have you got planned??

  • Tuesday is here!

Did I sleep last night? Nope! Worrying about today I suppose and should I go to Tesco right from work today or not U-( The cupboards are bare you see, so perhaps I should go and get something to eat :))

I was up earlier than normal this morning and hung out all the washing I got done last night. The weather man said that it will be 13 degrees today and dry. A perfect day for getting washing dry and even better....I doubt the neighbours will be having a barbie today!

Hope you all have a great day today my lovelies xx

  • Nighty night all

So dear reader, it is once again that time when I wish you all a fond farewell as I head off to the comfort of my bed and some very sweet dreams :)

    Night night all xx

  • Hey ho, hey ho, it's off to work I go.....

    Oh boy!!
Not looking forward to this today....last week was a bit of a whirlwind for me and now reality has settled in well, I don't know if I am coping.
I have tried so hard to stay positive and calm and just get on with stuff but to be honest, I'm not sure I convinced myself.

Yesterday was the child from hells birthday and lets just say that he didn't think his present was enough and wow, fireworks. That has not helped me at all. I am now even considering my own happiness...am I really happy? I don't know is the simple answer!

I was watching that Monty someoneortheother last night, living in a croft up on the Isle of Skye I think it was and well, I just wanted to be him. Up there with nothing but my dog and the sun, sea and wind. Perfect!

Oh well, onwards and upwards....hope you all have a great day!

Sorry to have depressed the life out of you all now. Can I come home to lots of your jollyiness and silly postings please folks??

    xxx

  • Still sore.....

I am still so worried about my little doggy...we are still waiting for a referal to the skin specialist. He is still scratching himself and now has lots more little cuts :((

I've tried sudocreme, savlon and am now about to start on tea tree oil..a light version so as not to make him worse!

  • I knew it!

    I knew it!!!!

Summer is here and those bloody neighbours are having either a barbie or burning everything in the house on a bonfire!

Just because I have my washing hanging out....every flippin' summer they do this and here we are again, the first Sunday of summer and I am off rushing to get the washing in.

....and it's still not dry! >:XX

  • There must be an angel

I have just been watching BBC 1 showing Annie Lennox. Goodness, that had the old memories flooding back. We have seen the Eurythmics so many times and so many times they were just fabulous. Annie Lennox really has not changed much over the years and that voice....what a voice she has!

    This is just wonderful....

  • Full English breakfast please

Oh my goodness I am starving.....

    Full%20English

I really need to get out to a cafe and eat this....with chips and a nice coffee!

  • Bed month

I have just discovered that March has been National Bed Month. It made me smile  Does this mean that we can all call in sick and say that we are staying in bed??

What exactly does it mean though?? I don't need any encouraging to stay in bed. I love my bed sooo much and to me it is the one place that I can go to and and relax, watch telly, read, listen to the radio or just collapse into a heap.

I used to have a friend who conducted her entire life from bed. As soon as her and her hubby got home from work they would shower, put their PJ's on, cook some food and take it to bed, eat it and there they stayed unil it was time to get up for work. I can't ever understand eating in bed to be honest. I have beautiful white bed linen and the thought of getting curry all over that does my head in!!

How much do you love your bed??

    National Bed Month

  • Saturday is here!!

So Saturday is here at last. Could I lay in? Nope, course not! Why is it that when you can't lay in you are always dead to the world when the alarm goes off?? Yet, when you can stay there all day as it's the weekend you are up early?? Typical eh!

The weather is pretty miserable...rain! I hate the rain. I would rather it be really cold than wet. So what to do today? Loads of washing as per normal. Ironing?? Maybe :-/ Shopping? Nope, not pay day yet

Maybe I will just stay indoors and rot in my PJ's.

Have a great day everyone

  • Ner ner, ner ner, ner ner......

I have tonight been on a mercy dash!!
I didn't have blue lights flashing but the thought of that makes me feel excited. My friend went to hospital today for surgery. She refused the offer of a lift there and also refused the pleasure of me waiting for her and bringing her home. :)

This evening, just as we were sitting down to some really lovely and fresh fish and chips I received a phone call asking if I wouldn't mind going to collect her! Now, remember, I am in North London and she is now in South London. Traffic in London is far from kind and I am wondering how long this will take me. So, out comes the sat nav and off I trott. 55 minutes is what the sat nav says it will take to get there. OK then, off we jolly well go!

The traffic was very kind and it only took me 40 minutes to get there. Out she trotts with the most attractive looking shoe thingies on. She has had her bunions done you see!

Coming home the traffic is a nightmare as the sat nav decided to bring me home a different way. I went via the north circular and returned via every bloody set of traffic lights in London! Nightmare!!! The journey took over an hour and through all sorts of traffic. We were sat at traffic lights somewhere near to Cheam when all of a sudden the doors of a pub openened and out rolled a fight! Oh god, that was fun...it spilled out onto the road so we were stuck there watching it happen. It was rather funny in a way as one of the guys was so drunk he couldn't see straight to throw a punch but still tried anyway. Hysterical!!

So, friend safely delivered home, dog fed and watered for her and here I am. That is my good deed of the day. We must all try to do at least one good deed a day. :))

    xx

  • Cakes, cousins and food

The visit to see my aunt was tiring to say the least!! Bless her, she is getting on and going deaf so I spent the whole time there shouting at her...in the nicest way of course! A lovely time was had as 3 of my other cousins arrived too. It's so nice to meet up and have a good old natter. I really was worn out from chatting.

Auntie forgets that she isn't able to do all those things she used to do like all the cleaning, cooking etc. She got into a panic when she realised she didn't have time to make some cakes. Not to worry, her daughter visited Marks and Sparks at Marble Arch and got 3 (yes 3!) very nice cakes. There was a rhubarb and something cake, a carrot cake and last but not least was a wonderful, stick to your teeth and top lip chocolate torte! We had home made pizza and minestrone soup first so were a little full up before the cakes arrived! My aunt is Italian so as you would expect, the food is top notch!

Over the years my aunt has been a complete inspiration to me when it comes to cooking. I used to go down and cook with her and learn all her wonderful Italian recipes. I remember the first time I ever made pasta. I had no idea of what to expect. What a wonderful experience. We made the pasta while nattering and drinking camomile tea. The camomile was picked in Italy and hidden in her suitcase on her last visit home. There were also nettles picked at the same time. We made nettle pasta. The pasta was the most vibrant green you have ever seen. When all the pasta had been made she hung it all out on the washing line!! I never thought I was going to stop laughing. I had never seen this being done before!! The taste was just like nothing I had ever tasted before....wonderful!

I am looking forward to my next visit already!

  • I'm meee again!

I have had a very tiring first few days back at work. So much going on and so much to take in. One or two people have brassed me off and today, I had to tell them so :)

I have decided that no longer and I going to be a sponge for other peoples short comings or OCD or infact anything. It's their problem to deal with, not mine. So with this all sorted out in my head I am ready now to tell someone if they have upset me or whatever.

I told the lady I job share with. She was so "off" with me Monday when I went back. That is without when I have popped in before I went back she couldn't even give me eye contact. I wasn't the only one to notice this either so am glad to know it wasn't a figment of my imagination.

Today I told her how upset I was on Monday and told her what it was she said to upset me. She said she couldn't remember saying that. I assured her she did. Why would I make it up! Anyway, she went off to get some "advice" of someone who then come to the class to act as a middle person! What!!! Anway, all sorted I hope. The other lady has recently discovered she is pregnant. I am delighted for her but, she isn't the only lady to be pregnant. She keeps saying her hormones are making her do silly things and that her hubby told her it's like walking on egg shells with her! She has admitted that she is very self centred about it all and that is it taking her life over...don't we know it.

On the way home the other person stopped me and told me she was pleased to see me back as "me". This time last year I was very passive and "yeah whatever" and now I am back as me and being assertive and knowing what I want. I was worried as sometimes being assertive can be considered as just being plan rude. So I questioned her about that :)) Seems not rude but just incharge of myself, my expectations and going all out to make sure I get what I want!

I am rather pleased to hear that actually. I have been such a woose for so long and now, I'm back to being me! You don't know how good that makes me feel!

    xx

  • Is it Thursday??

    What day is it today??

    Thursday?

    Are you sure??

I spent all day yesterday thinking it was Thursday and even very nearly went to visit my aunt. I told her I would be there to see her on Thursday! So are you sure today is Thursday??

  • The phone company advert

Filmed at Liverpool street station and used 10 hidden cameras and 400 dancers. Only the dancers and the station employees knew what was going on!

How cool is that! I love the little old ladies strutting their stuff round the concourse!

  • How do you do it?

I can never get home fast enough to enjoy it. I will always make sure it isn't sticky round the outside. I do hate it when that happens before I have enjoyed it. I like to bite the top off first. Then I put my tongue in and lick up all that lovely gooey stuff. Next I will gently nibble around the top and will lick it all again until there is none left. Only then will I put the whole thing in my mouth and enjoy every last bit of it!

    :))

So, how do you eat yours??

    Egg2

  • Wind....

What is going on again with this silly weather? Last week was beautiful and the weekend too but then yesterday it all started going a bit pear shaped. We had torrential rain for all of about 15 minutes but the wind (not hubbys this time!) was awful! They even say we may have snow by the end of the week. Good grief, didn't the last lot cause enough problems!

I was on playground duty this morning and the old wind was whistling round. The sun was out and shining really brightly. I found the sun and patrolled that part of the playground. It seemed to be the most dangerous place though. I got a cricket ball in my knee and a frisbee to the back of my head! Thank heavens if was only made from foam or I would have a dent in my head now!

Oh well, lets see what I can cook tonight...oh how I wish it was a takeaway night. Mmmmm....garlic chicken, pillau rice, bombay aloo, peshwari naan. Right, to the fridge.....

  • Good afternoon!

    Good afternoon all!
I slept like a log last night. My head hit the pillow and that was it, out for the count. I probably snored and dribbled too and I don't care!! I was up bright and breezy this morning and was really all nice and early. Isn't it lovely to just sit and have a cuppa and not having to rush.

I am now about to sit for hours in the traffic as I have to go to Hampstead now. I will keep an eye out for all the wannabees too posing up and down the High street!

Ooops, now one of my contacts has decided to weld itself to the inside of my eye lid....as long as it isn't going to fold itself up into a Dairylea shape and fall out like it did last week I shall be ok!

    Laters folkies xx

  • Hey ho...,

...it's off to bed I go!

    Night night everyone

    snoring

  • Back again....

    Started back today.....

    Ho hum!! :-/

    When's Easter??

  • Nearly forgotten....

The son forgot it was Mothers Day! He remembered around 10.26pm on Saturday night. Why am I not surprised??

Thankfully, hubby had known this would happen and had gone shopping for not only a card but a pressie too and not told son. So when son paniced hubby told him it was all under control. Lucky for me eh!

Actually, I got a lovely card and a really lovely silver heart necklace with pale pink "diamonds" in. It is actually very nice. I was just a bit sad that son hadn't put any effort into this at all but sat and told me he had. :(

    Oh well......

  • Excuse me while I nag a while...

Today is a day in which I have had to stand back and take stock of my husband. I love him dearly but there are a few things that rattle the life out of me!

We go into the Drive Tru McDonalds and when asked to talk to the silly machine to give our order...he shouts so loud I cringe! Honest, I don't think they need the intercom they could hear him without it in Hong Kong!

When he eats he sometimes drags the fork on his front teeth....arrrrghhhhh!! I hate anyone doing that and I will just sit and cringe.

    He farts! Everywhere!! Loudly!!!

He turns over in his sleep and mutters "for fucks sake" as he turns over...why?!

When he snores...oh boy, do the windows rattle or what!!

He will make a cup of tea and put the tea spoon on the tea towel!!! Why!!?!??!

He will just shove things anywhere....I am constantly on the phone asking where he has put something.

Does it sound like I hate him? I don't want it to. Today, he has just driven me nuts! It is Mothers Day afterall so I can moan if I want to :))

  • Well done Ireland!

Many congratulations to Ireland on their win today!!!

Just to make myself feel better about them winning here is a photo of that hunky man called Ronan O'Gara. :))

    ronanogara

  • Take a note Miss Jones!

Seeing as I have the brain of a sparrow I decided that as I forget everything I really must get organised. At work I have little note books everywhere. On my desk, in my bag, in my desk even but they are there. So, when ispirtation strikes I can get it jotted down ASAP and not forget whatever it was. Well, that's the theory!

Today I got myself yet another note book. I will admit to rather liking these sort of things. You know, pens, pencils, nice cards, etc. Yes I know, I do have a problem with it all and have bags of pens, plastic wallets, folders, etc stashed away "just incase" I need them. Of course I never do as I have far too many as it is!

Anyway, this notebook....it will either sit in the kitchen, next to the sofa or by the bed. Then it will be ready for my mind when it's in mid flow with ideas. Yeah, in other words I shall just end up doodling over it and not writing anything down or the dog will chew it up!

I forget everything so what's the betting I forget where the note book is or forget what I got it for!

    Hey ho!!

  • Hugs.....

A great big group hug! It's just what we all need :)

    group hugs

  • Mutiny on the Bounty

Remember I told you about my charity stuff the other day and how it was being really threatened by some silly people??

Well, the mutiny has started...and with a vengence too!

I will go to the Ball

  • Out of date!!!!

Like Brokendownangle I also had a disaster in the kitchen last night!

I was cooking my very own version of bacon carbonnara last night. I had put the bacon lardons in the pan, chopped and added the oinions, let them fry a bit while I crushed the 10 tons of garlic. Add the garlic, a small tin of chopped tomatos and let it get on with itself for 10 minutes or so while I put the pasta on to cook. The smell is always amazing from this sauce and I can never wait to eat this. So, pastas in, boiling away happily. I reach for the creme fraiche, put the small tub into the pan and stir away.

Then I look at the date on the creme fraiche 88|

Yesterdays date was 20th March...the use by date was 15th March :-/

It smelt fine and tasted fine but do you know, I just could not bring myself to serve it up. Could you imagine us all having food poisioning or something so the lot went in the bin!

I found a jar of chilli and corriander pesto in the cupboard and whooshed that over the now cooked pasta! It was nice....but not as nice as the other stuff! :(

  • Stop thief!!

I went off to Tescos today to fill up the dog mobile with gallons of petrol. You'd have thought it had gone down to 20p a gallon or were giving the stuff away.

I recently discovered the pay at the pump thing and just have to say how much I love it. Ok on the down side you don't get your school vouchers but sometimes it's good just to fill, pay and escape.

But, don't some people get arsey about it! Some woman this morning called me a thief and and told the world I was running off without paying for the petrol! WTF?!?!? I told her nicely to butt out and mind her own as yes, I had paid. I waved the reciept at her and laughed to myself. I don't know what she thought she was going to do about it anyway as she was about 2ft tall, couldn't see over her steering wheel and then couldn't get out the car. What an odd thing for a an obviously disabled woman to do in this day and age. She risked someone really not liking what she was shouting out and bashing her. I did tell her that after she had calmed down. She did say sorry...and I should think so too!!

Anyone else had an odd morning??

I love the way Google do their name in different designs according to what day it is or that. I have just looked at Google and there it is....a great design for the first day of spring!!

I'm too tired to even remember how to do a screen shot.....just go and have a looksee at the google page!

The very hungry caterpillar is my all time bestest book. I remember in my first year of teaching having to do a wall display of this book. Even if I say so myself it was brilliant!

    the-very-hungry-caterpillar400x300

  • A room with a view?

Not much to say here really that many have not already said about this man, Josef Fritzl. He has been sentenced to life today. It's interesting to know that he will now be the one locked up in a very small area. I wonder how he will like it. Shame he will be getting time to get out in the fresh air and walk about too.

  • Mothers Day approaches.....

    I'm bored!!!

It's too early to get to bed....too late to go out...

The washing machine is now starting to behave badly. I suppose it's come out in sympathy with the old dishwasher. Well, I ain't replacing you just yet, d'ya hear?? The dishwasher was an unexpected payout, the drier needs replacing and I want a new pair of shoes. So, the shoes win ok?

Are we all expecting lovely Mothers day cards and if we are lucky, presents too? I'm not. Seems the son has not mentioned a word to hubby about it so today he got one step infront of son and went out and got me a card and a likkle pressie...just incase. Well, I know he don't have any money, the son that is, as he prefers to buy cheap sweats and McDonalds with it so I wasn't expecting anything. Hope all you mums out there get something lovely though. :)

  • Candles yet again

I had a lovely surprise today....my friend delivered a bag of lovely candles for me :)

All Yankee candles too, my faves.

I went to light one and the flippin' candle lighter had lost it's ooomph and run out of gas. Normally it's like a flame thrower.

I have trotted off to the shop and got a new tin of fuel and the lighter is back on flame throwing duties again. The smell of these candles is just so lovely.

    Mmmmm....

  • Out of my sick bed.....

I have surfaced from my sick bed at long last!!

After going to bed so cross last night I couldn't sleep. My mind was all over the place and I just couldn't stop thinking about stuff. I must have eventually nodded off. I woke up early this morning, probably around 6.30am and tried to get out of bed. Notice I said "tried"? I couldn't move!!! How scary was that. Hubby had taken the dog out, son was snoring and there I was stuck in bed. When I did eventually manage to sit up in bed I had the most awful pains in all my joints and limbs. Getting to the bathroom was like running a marathon not to mention the pain. I soon got back into bed and stayed there and slept.

I got up at lunch time feeling awful and decided a shower might liven me up. I couldn't even get my leg over the side of the bath. Now I was getting worried as I had no idea of what was wrong. Eventually I get into the shower and then can't get out again. What a mess and not a pretty sight either!

I have been back to bed again and still feel like doggy doo. So folkies, sorry for not being about and catching up with your news etc. If I don't die in the night I hope to be back bright and breezy tomorrow!

    Hugs to you all xx

  • I am so cross

Sorry folks but at this moment in time I am very, very angry :##>:XX

It just takes one or two very stupid people to put their 5 bobs worth in and everything I, and a few others, have worked for, for over 5 years now, is now hanging by a thread. One silly little wrong word and that will be it...ended!

The Charity Ball I organise every year is just hanging there by a very fine silk thread. The thousands of pounds that have been raised may not happen anymore and that really and seriously brasses me off! Charities should not be held to ransom by some silly upstarts who think they can rule the world....and probably from their spare bedroom or garden shed!

I am hoping that tomorrow may see them realising their mistakes!

    Night night xx

  • Ear, ear part 2

    Just back from the vet!
Poor doggy does look silly. The vet shaved his whole ear :)) It is so sore and dry looking. To me it looks like some kind of psoriasis or something but then, what do I know!

So we have got some special shampoo and cream to use daily and he is going to refer us on to a specialist dermatologist.

Thank heavens the dog is insured!

    PS....

I asked about the dog that got run over during my last visit. He had a fractured leg and is just fine. The vet said that he gets on average 1 emergency a day where a dog or cat has been run over 88|

  • Are you an ebayer??

I have finally decided that I really must get ebaying. I have never done it before and I think I may have only got 1 thing off there ever. My nieces keep telling me I'm mad not to have a try. My sister in law recently carpeted her whole house from the profits of a years worth of ebaying. So...I gotta do it!

So folks, what are the tips that I need to know??

Treat me like a fool (cos I am!) and tell me whatever helps you ebay!

  • Wash day blues

    My garden looks interesting today!
The washing line has so much dog bedding on after me washing it all. Then there are the cushions from the sofas, the cushions from the beds, the throws, the quilt throws off the beds....nothing is safe. I may even put the dog in the washing machine in a minute...it must be cheaper than whatever the vet will charge for this visit!

Thank heavens there is a breeze and it's warm :)

  • Ear, ear......

I am going off the vets yet again in a while. The poor dod so far has had antibiotics and some wash stuff for his ear. That didn't help him. Back we went and got his ear shaved, some more antibiotics and steroids for the ear and guess what...he is still in a mess with it and now scratching for England. I got him the silly lampshade collar to help him but hubby felt sorry for him and took it off...just what is it with you men! he really has been itching a lot and it's drove us mad so bless him, goodness only knows how he feels :( But, seeing as the vet had given him tablets we were waiting till he had taken the last of them. That was this weekend and there has been no difference.

Anyway, last night while out walking we bumped into our fellow dog walker who just happens to be a very top dog vet at a very top dog place so we asked her to have a look. She said she thinks he may have some sort of mite in his ear and the fact that he is itching himself silly and actually kinda self harming himself means he must go back to the vet. What she did tell us was that we need to wash all of his bedding and disinfect his baskets etc and spray the house 8| What with?? I have no idea of what we need as I was so upset about the dog self harming himself that I forgot to ask!

So, I will be off out soon and hubby is cross and wants to shout at the vet as he hates to see his little doggy all sad. Think of me won't you while I try to calm the hubby down and try to stop the doggy scratching. More money *ding* :-/

  • Sex in the City

I have just sat and watched two more episodes from my most favourite TV show ever...Sex in the city. I just love that show and sitting up was well worth it too.
It was all modelled on my life you know...

  • Ouch!!!

A couple's sexual experimentation involving a sex toy and a power saw has gone painfully wrong. The pair, from Maryland in the US, attached a sex toy to a saw. But instead of the ecstasy the pair were hoping for, the saw cut through the plastic toy and wounded the 27-year-old woman. Her partner called emergency services and she was airlifted to hospital.

The man admitted attaching the sex toy to the saw and then using the high-powered, homemade device on his partner, according to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. It was reported that the woman has been released from hospital and is recovering from her unusual injuries.

Investigators talked to the woman, who told them she suffered the injuries during a consensual act and that she and her partner were trying something new and no crime was committed, the sheriff's office said.

  • Fancy a drink??

Seems some bright spark has suggested that the price of alcohol goes up to at least 50p an alcoholic unit. What a great idea! That way we can all give up drinking, mainly because we won't be able to afford it, and then go over to puffing and taking cocaine. The kids will love that. Can you imagine their parents giving them a tenner to go out with and being told "no don't waste the money on drinks, just go and get yourself some Charlie and you will be just fine" :) This will even put a stop on the happy hours as that will be seen as selling cheap alcohol! For goodness sake...lets all stay at home and drink cream soda! U-(

Yes I agree that something has to be done about the all the underage drinking. Putting the price up is not going to stop it. Nor is not letting anyone under the age of 18 being legally able to buy it. I know far too many corner shops that will sell anything to anyone regardless of their age. If they have the money then that's good enough for the shopkeeper. Report them? Oh yes I do quite often for selling to underaged people but also for selling out of date food. Something else that really rattles my cage! >:XX

I will happilly admit to drinking probably more than I should do. Hands up who sticks to the proper amount of units per week anyway. Nah, I didn't think many of us would. I think I probably have a weeks worth of units per night. Yes, I know it's bad for me but it's soooo nice and helps me relax blah, de blah, dah. Pathetic excuse I know

So what is the right thing to do?? How can we stop underage drinking and binge drinking? What about giving teenagers something to do in the evenings and weekends?? Clubs or that? I know it won't stop the drinking but it might stop a lot of other happening because the kids are bored!

  • Quick....

.....get your washing out on the line!!!

17 degrees has been forcast for here in London Town, or so the weatherman told me :) So let's all get everything in the house washed, including the dog, and hang it out to dry!

  • Gardening....

The sun was shining, the sky was blue so it was time to hit the garden and start getting it looking tidy. We cut the grass, dead headed stuff, attacked the weeds, pruned the roses and just generally started getting it all ready to look lovely when all those lovely bedding plants go in.

God I hurt all over now....gardening is flippin' hard work :-/

  • QVC addict??

My name is Missy and I am a QVC addict!

Anyone else tune into QVC and want to buy the world?? I have to say I just love to watch it. Yes, lots of the stuff is complete crap but so much of it is just great and being sold at bargain prices too!

Even better is that you get to try the item out for 30 days and then send it back if you are not happy with it!

  • Donald Duck.....

Donald Duck goes on a dirty weekend. He calls the reception desk of the hotel that he and his duck friend are staying in and asks for some condoms.
The receptionist says "Shall I put them on your bill?"
Donald replies "Don't be thucking thupid I'd thuffocate"

That gave me the giggles all night!!!

  • Burning question,,,,

    My burning question tonight is:

Why does Ronaldo pluck his eyebrows??

    Ronaldo

Isn't that very vain of him??

  • If your're happy....

If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands
If you're happy and you know it and you really want to show it, clap your hands!!!

  • Jades wedding

I have just sat through 2 hours worth of Jades wedding on the Living chanel. Goodness me, I know she is very poorly and all that but, it was soooo over the top in parts. I'm not sure who thought they were auditioning for a new show or something.

Jade of course looked beautiful. The bridesmaids all did too. All the family looked lovely and were dressed to the nines. The hotel was perfect and the ceremony was lovely until the vicar stared singing 8| Waht was that all about?!?! I think he got all carried away with it all and must fancy himself as being the vicar laureate or something.

I was delighted to see that there were Marie Curie nurses looking after her. I have very personal experience of them caring for my mum and know so well that they will give her such wonderful care.

It was so very very sad though and yes, I did shed a tear or five!

  • 'er......well.....

    Well....

    uuummmm....

    What about....

    If only.....

    Doh!

    When??

    *sigh*

    I give up!!

I'm finding it hard to write anything today

  • Any one for a grubby natter??

I'm bored today so thought I'd get the old Mouse House going with a bit of good old fashioned smut. There's nothing quite like it!

I was listening to the radio, as you in the middle of last night. I couldn't sleep again you see so on went the radio. I don't even know what station I had on as I just blindly searched through until something sounded interesting. Actually it was the words....sex, parties and couples that stopped me :) I don't know about you but when a programme is about to start and you are given the "This programme may contain scenes of a sexual nature and strong language" I always rub my hands together and shout out "that'll do me then" and settle down for a night of grubbiness and smut :))

Anyway, the lady was talking about open relationships/swinging/etc. Is it just fashionable these days to say that you do these things?? I think there is some sort of curisosity about such matters but people don't want to talk about it. I don't care, I'll talk about anything me and to anyone too. I once got chatting to a guy who I'd never met before. He asked me to touch his ankle. I was a little curious and did ask him why. He was really insistant that I did and when I did I had a surprise. He was wearing stockings under his trousers. Now I am really curious as I want to know more. Gosh, his story was so sad but so interesting as to why he wore stockings. I was really sad though that all his family had disowned him because of it.

    Well?? Your views please :)

  • Perfect Housewife???

Has anyone ever seen Anthea Turners "Perfect Housewife" show??

    XX(

I for one can't stand the woman. She has a face I could slap (and very hard too!) and she has the house no one would ever dare to walk into without wearing a full head to toe body suit. To say she is house proud is an understatement. I have just caught part of a show on SKY tonight where she is showing one lady how to do the laundry. You have sort the laundry into whites, nearly whites, dark colours, dry cleaning and hand washing. For each of these groups you need a laundry bag. When you have done the drying you need to get the dry clothes out of the drier and onto a hanger ASAP or you will get crumpled clothes (no shit Anthea!). Then, once you have done the laundry you have to iron it and then put it all away. Ah, the part we all loathe the most eh girls?

    To the undies drawer!
So you find the bra and then the matching knickers (is she kidding?!) and you slip the leg of the knickers over the back fastening strap of the bra and then put them in a a see through plastic bag thingy and put it in the drawer. Isn't life too short to mess about doing that? She said it's so you can see where all the matching stuff is when you are in a hurry. Pah! When I get dressed in the mornings it's a case of what I lay my hands on first. Then again, when having a nice night I always know where my nice undies are ;)

This woman is a manic OCD'er and needs a good kick up the rear end. Just because she probably has a "lady who does" or plenty of time on her hands to do all this kind of stuff, don't think that everyone else does it too!

    Anthea, get a life love!

  • No Smoking Day

Today is National No Smoking Day!

Hands up who will be giving up or at least trying to give up today??

    No Smoking Day website

  • The moon last night

Did you see that amazing moon last night? As I was driving home I noticed it big, orange and bright, laying low in the evening sky. I even pulled over to have a nice long look. It was just lovely.

When I went to bed last night I lay there in with the moons calming glow shining on the bed and me. It just felt right. I just laid there looking at how bright the moon really was. I was wondering how many people were doing the same thing as me at that very moment. I would imagine there were quite a few others!

I hope we get to see it again tonight!

  • Just a quickie....

Sorry but I am so tired and just don't have the energy to go through your blogs tonight...sorry :( Promise to look tomorrow though :)

I have had a really busy day what with one thing and another. I recieved a text from my very gay friend David. Now David is a drama queen at the best of times and today, well, he's gone overboard. So I get his text, closely followed by another one of my lovely boys who also got the text, and so it went on. In the end I think I had received about 10 texts all about David.

I replied to David telling him to stop it, stop acting like the drama queen he thinks he is and to stop tarting about. Normally that livens him up and it's all over as soon as it started. Not today!

Tonight, I am sick and tired of it all....and have told him so too! I do feel mean but he is about to drop a fair few of us right in the doggy doo over a BIG Charity thing we organise every year. I am fuming with him!

    Moan over!

    Nighty night folkies xx

  • A - Z of all known illness

I have just got back from meeting up with a friend I've not seen for about 2 months. Now, to say she is a hyperchondriac (just how do you spell that!?) is an understatment. Whatever you've had, she's had it bigger and worse than anyone else on the entire face of the earth. I swear she is working her way from A right though to Z in all the Medical dictionaries she owns.

"Hello" says I, "how are you?".

    Wrong question...:-/

"Oh hello" comes the reply and without as so much as taking a breath she said "I have a hernia"

I swear she has been beside herself wanting to tell me that....and then I got to hear about her cold, her bad feet, her bowels and best of all, how she's going deaf :**:

I think it will be another 2 months before I meet up with her again!

  • What shall I have?

I can't makeup my mind as to what I fancy. Do I want a long cold drink?? Perhaps a nice hot cup of my lovely masala tea...I just don't know what I want.

Hmmm....off to wander round the kitchen while I make my mind up!

  • Another Mouse blog?

Seeing as how I am a Pro these days I thought I would investigate starting up another blog.

Not sure if it's "me" or not but, it's here for a while at least. I suppose it could all get posted on here but then again, no, it's "different" over there from what I post here.

    I dunno...see what you think!

  • They were sold out!

I finally made it to the Asian stores for my little stock up of all things nice. But, dear reader, I have to report I came away without my very special stuff. I am very disappointed to say the least. I normally buy what can only be described as the most wonderful stuff in the world. It is a garlic and chilli paste/chutney that can be used for anything...on sandwiches, with cheese, pork pies, scotch eggs, over pasta to liven it up. So many uses and today...they didn't have any! Worst of all...they didn't have any thing like it either. What are we to do?!?! You know when you open something and you sniff it to get all that wonderful aroma and your mouth just instantly waters...that is what used to happen everytime we opened the jar.

I did buy some other chutney but to be honest...it's not anywhere as nice :(

I did get some spices and finally got some of that masala tea Queen Mab has been talking about. I didn't realise as I had left my reading glasses at home, that the tea I got was instant, sweetened tea. I was really eager to have a cuppa and rushed in and put the kettle on. OMG, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The tea was like drinking hot pistachio kulfi. Now this is my most fave ice cream ever so this was just perfect for me!!! I loved it!

What to do about the garlic and chilli chutney stuff though?? I think I need a trip to Kingsbury and see what I can find over there in all those wonderful Asian stores!

  • Do I risk it??

Do I risk it for a biscuit??

I've tried several times over the last few days and so far have not had total success.

Yep, the sun is out, the wind is of a good drying speed and I just don't care....so yes, I will risk putting the washing out and hope that it all gets flippin' dry before I have to dive out and get in all in when the rain appears!

  • Dear blogger...

    Dear blogger
I wish to inform you of my intention to disappear off to my bed before I do my party trick of falling asleep here at the keyboard. Waking up to find QWERTY stamped on my forehead is not the best idea and I also tend to get a very stiff neck the next morning.

I will bid you all a fond farewell and will see you on the morrow!

    Nightie night xx

  • Ross Kemp in Afghanistan

Has anyone here seen the most fabulous series Ross Kemp in Afghanistan?? We watch it every week on SKY and I just have to say what a fabulous insight into the Afghanistan war it is. I don't understand all this stuff taht goes on and drive hubby mad with lots and lots of questions about stuff.

This really is a deeply thought proving series that has had us held to it and in some cases, on the edge of our seats. Honestly, we don't know half of what our soliders have to do or put up with.

I have felt very humbled by the series and so proud too of our servicemen out there doing their duty!

    More info here!

  • Candles!

    I do like candles!
I am guilty of spending far too much on them too. I just have to buy smelly ones, pretty ones and just love getting them as gifts. I always think they look so nice when lit and burning away happily.

My last purchase was earlier this week in Marks and Spencer. There was a really nice brown candle, you know the type, candle in the glass kind. It said it was a vanilla perfume. Well, it has no smell at all and I am really disappointed to say the least. I may even be really bold and take it back and demand a refund (I probably won't...). Friday saw me attack TKMaxx in my search for nothing in particular. I do love a rummage in there. I found candles!!!! I don't know if any of you have tried those candles in the jars with the lids on?? I have never had any of those so thought that today could be the day I got one. My sister-in-law has these jar type candles and they always smell so lovely. I picked up one and the smell was so strong, and not very nice, that I think my sinus' have now been cleared for the next 6 years. That soon got put down again. After several sniffs in several jars I found it....birthday surprise it's called. Now just imagine all that birthday cake, jelly, ice cream and any other child like food at a party and this is the smell of this candle. I was transported back to earlier days of parties for my son and all sorts of other lovely memories. I rushed to pay for it and drove like the clappers to get home and light it.

Mmmmm....it was lovely! It was a smell you could have eaten if you know what I mean? I have put in on the fireplace along with all the others. Even when not lit, I can still smell it's wonderful aroma. A good buy I would say. The M & S candle cost £5 and this one cost £6.99 so not too much more moneywise and worth every penny!

I will admit to being a bit of a fiddler with candles. You know, I have to pick off the drips when they have gone hard. I have been known to swirl the hot wax round too. What really bugs me, and I have to say has become a major bugbare for me is why oh why do the candles disappear into the middle of the candle as it burns and then go out?? So, what I do is to tip some of the hot wax out so the candle can carry on burning. Did that make sense? :)) It drives me nuts!

Anyone else do that too or am I the only OCD candle burner??

  • Rabbit murderer!!!

Hubby and I had a lovely walk this morning over the fields with the dog. The sun was shining, there was a brisk breeze blowing and most of all, we had the fields to ourselves. There is something so wonderful about being out dog walking very early in the morning. Seems no one else can get out of their beds :))

All of a sudden the dog makes a mad dash for the bushes and is gone for ages. We think he has gone for a swim, something he loves to do, and will emerge soaking wet, smelling like something you would never want to smell again and probably sporting some green gunge on the top of his head. Oh no, over he trotts looking very pleased with himself....he has company inbetween his jaws. A poor likkle bunny rabbit and a very dead bunny rabbit at that!

    88|

How proud of himself was he! Would he let go of it? Nope! I am now in tears as I hate anything to be hurt or killed and hubby is trying to get it out of his mouth. If the dog had his way this bunny was coming home with us I think. Eventually the bunny falls to the floor. Dog is promptly put on the lead and marched away. I instruct hubby to ensure the rabbit is dead as I could not stand to think of it in any pain than it needed to be. Mind you, I don't quite know what we would have done had it not been dead! Home was calling.....

Dog was promptly plonked in the bath and "disenfected" from head to toe with doggie shampoo. He is now known as the bunny murderer and been sent to the garden in disgrace!!

    Baaaad dog!

  • Dishwasher heaven!

Hubby and I spent the morning trawling round looking for a new dishwasher! What a nightmare! I was determined not to spend lots of money as things these days a) don't seem to last long and b) when they break it's cheaper to get rid of them and buy new....as I have done today!

My old dishwasher, AEG, was 5 years old. Cost a fair bit when new and now, would probably cost me about £160 to put right and that is without the £40 I spent last week on that Mr NoGoodDishwasherMan!

I knew I wanted AAA ratings, I knew I wanted a 12 place setting washer and I would have liked a time countdown thing on the front but that I could take or leave. Currys, Comet, you name it we went there....nothing under £300 and I only wanted to pay £250ish. Currys had a Bosch one on special, end of line discount and it was £299. I offered £250 to take it there and then but no, they wasn't playing...so I didn't either! :))

I went to a local store, found a Bosch one we looked at earlier that was marked up at £279 in Currys. It was £239 in here and I ordered it on the spot! The best part is that they delivered it within the hour too....and free of charge!!!! How fantastic is that!

Hubby got the old washer out, did all the plumbing thing and our new dishwasher is happily washing away....

It pays to shop about....so while I was in there I checked out the tumble driers as I am sure that is the next thing to replace! :))

  • Is it wrong??

Am I wrong because I have just spent an hour reading through my 15 year old sons MSN chat history??

Is it wrong because I worry about him??

How wrong is it that my fears on a few things have kind of been confirmed now??

    *sigh*

  • All dressed up nice.....

Today as I was driving along I got caught up in a long traffic jam! So as not to be bored I dived right in with my people watching hobby and just sat listening to the radio and wathing the world go by.

After a while a really smartly dressed guy walked passed. Lovely black Crombie type coat on, really nice scarf, nice suit on underneath....and as he walked past me I could see his trousers tucked in the backs of both his socks...and they were white socks too! U-(

What a complete twit he looked!

    :))

  • Spices, garlic and chilli

I am planning a trip to my local Asian store today to buy up lots of lovely goodies. My mouth is watering at the thought of all those wonderful spices. We do rather like spicey food and so I love to buy chillis in all shapes and sizes. This store sells big bags of garlic for some silly prices of about £1.10p so much cheaper than anywhere else and fresher too! Then there are the jars of the most wonderful chutneys and pickles...oh god, I can just smell them all now.

I can't wait to get over there.....

  • Love it or hate it?

I have just been prompted to write this by our lovely xmillyxxx.

How much do you love perfume or aftershave??

What is your all time fave one??

I have a nice collection of smellies but do admit that I fancy something different. I always walk past ladies and think "ooh that smells nice, I wonder what it is". I never remember what I have been told it is either seeing as how I forget everything. Do you do that too?

My faves at the moment are:
Light Blue by Dolce and Gabanna.
    Mont Blanc by Mont Blanc
    Eae de Givenchy by Givenchy

Like the nail varnishes, I have a Boots perfumery in the bathroom!

  • Eh??

Said in my best Nessa (from Gavin and Stacey) voice....

    "What's occuring??"

I appear to now be a Pro (behave!) account holder and have lots of Pro thingies to play with now.

    Who, what, where, when??

    :??:

  • Nail. nail, nail.....

What is the one treat in the whole wide world that really cheers you up when you feel down??

For me it's always been a new nail varnish! So, yesterday off I went in search of a new wonderful colour to grace my nails. I have to say I do already have a collection of nail varnish to rival Boots but there is nothing like a new one. I wanted something dark. I have the deep reds, the dark browns, the deep purpley reds, the blacky reds etc but I just wanted something different.

The shopping didn't get off to a good start as I had forgotten my reading glasses so had no idea what the bottles were saying. Not a good way to buy a nail varnish. There are the one coat wonders, the quick drying, the "last for 7 days", the non chip...oh blimey, the list goes on and on. I normally buy Bourjois or Revlon but have recently got a L'Oreal varnish that said it lasted for 7 days. "Oh yeah" said I as I paid for it but do you know, it did last for 7 days and I was very impressed!!!

I arrived home with a lovely deep reddy plummy colour. It looked lovely. What I had failed to read was that it had some kind of new brush. Something about one sweep of the nail was all it took as this new brush was designed to fan out and do the entire nail in one go. Oh yes it did...but not before painting the outside of my finger first on the smaller nails. So on my little fingers I get my finger painted and on my larger nails I have to use 2 sweeps of the brush! What tosh and muggins me got roped into this all because I didn't have my glasses but liked the colour!

I shall see how long it lasts before chipping! :**:

Anyway, I settled on a Revlon varnish.

  • Horrible day!

I've had a horrible day today! It's been really miserable and for lots of reasons.
I got up feeling really under the weather. I had been awake most of the night with some palpatation type feelings but not anything like a palpatation if that makes sense. So was really tired and restless in the night. So I was really out of sorts when I got up and just wanted to go back to bed...so did!

Then this afternoon I had to take the dog back to the vets. His ear is kind of healing up but he just keeps scratching and of course it keeps opening it all up again and plus, there are now more scabs where he is scratching!! So in the week I went and got him one of those lampshade collars for him in the hope it would stop him. All he did was sit and sulk. Bless him, he looked so sorry for himself. He sat at the bottom of the stairs and whined as he couldn't get up the stairs with the lampshade on. The he kept walking into the doors and walls. Then worse of all, he couldn't work out how to jump up on the sofas as the lampshade kept getting in his way. All he has done is whine for us to pick him up and put him on the sofas!!

So there we were with the vet when the nurse come charging in saying there was an emergency. Oh my goodness....it was horrible. A poor dog had run out infront of a car and the car hit him. The poor dog was covered in blood and I do mean covered. So we came out to let the dog get seen to. They cleaned him up and put him on a drip and will xray him. They think he may have a fractured skull. Heaven only knows! The driver of the car was really shook up and was so upset about it all. Her car was totally wrecked at the front too. Lights, bumper, bonnet.

Anyway, we finally got sorted and now he has pills to stop him itching and more antibiotics just incase it all gets infected.

    I still feel crap!

    How are you??

  • It's broketh againeth....

Yep, the dishwasher has broken again! >:XX

Oh boy!! The guy who come out yesterday said that AEG were crap anyway....Oh really say's I, totally not interested in his views to be honest. He did say that if his fiddling didn't work (it did while he was there and for another machine load last night) then we would need a new computer panel and not a heater thingy as I previously said. I just don't pay attention do I?!?! But what I can't understand is, if it's all working fine but just not getting hot why does it need a new computer unit?? His fiddling cost us £36....but the new unit would cost £120 + VAT adn fitting :-/

    :**:

Perhaps a new machine might be the way to go??

  • Something is bugging me.....

    Poor Jade :(
Seems things are getting too painful for her in lots of ways I think. I hope the operation has eased her pains and she will feel as well as she can do under the circumstances.

Now I don't know about anyone else out there in blog land but I just can't put my finger on this Jack Tweed fella. I have very mixed feelings about him and I just can't take to him. It's not just since Jade has been ill. I have always felt that he is a wrong 'en. I am sure he loves her. Of course he does but....I just hope he isn't just after all the limelight I am sure he will be put in once the worse happens. I also hope there are no hidden motives. OK I know that sounds horrible of me to say that but I really can't put my finger on him.

Yesterdays court case looks like he may get sentenced. I've not read too much about it as I have to say I can't be bothered but from what the news says, he may be going to work for the Queen again. That can't be helping Jade or anyone really can it! I know it all happened a while back and who was to know that Jade would be terminally ill but...it still suggests that he has some major anger management problems that really need to be addressed.

I shall keep an eye on all this but, you know, something is really bugging me about him!

  • Bluuuuurgh

Today is being cancelled due to my lack of energy and "get up and go" :**:

Seems a few other bloggers are feeling the same too :( Is there some kind of blogger virus spreading round the group?? Did aliens land on earth over the weekend and plug into our engergies and zap us with lethary and a general feeling of the "can't be bothereds"?

Anyone got any chocolate?? That might help but I can't be sure.....

  • Parking bays!

I had to take the son for an appointment this afternoon. If you are very lucky there is normally a car parking space free. Today there were about 4 free so that was great news. We parked and were a little early as the traffic had been kind to us for a change. We were sitting in the car making up sentances from the 3 letters on car registration plates when over comes the security man. He stood at the front of the car and muttered something at me. I opened the window and he moved to one side to talk to me. "Move ya car over a bit will ya love" he said in his I'm in charge voice. I laughed as quite honestly, even as the car was parked I wasn't sure how I was going to get out of the car. Only a sheet of paper could squeeze between my car and the one next door. "'er, I can't really park any closer as I won't be able to get out of the car and well, my belly is on the larger size :))" says I with a grin and a giggle trying to make it a bit more light hearted. I could tell he wasn't happy when he stood up to all of his 4ft 6 height and said "well, another car won't be able to park now as you won't move". OK so now I am pretty peed off with him. I squeezed myself out of the car and went over to him and smiled. He kind of backed off....can't think why. I told him that I was very happy to move it but just didn't know how I was going to get out of the car seeing as I had just struggled to get out just then. He walked away! That made me really mad!

I could have had a right good argie bargie with him to be honest. Miserable sod! I went back, started to move the car but as luck would have it, the owner of the car next to me come along. Now she was sooo thin it wasn't true and even she struggled getting in. SO now there is an empty parking bay next to me! I hoped Mr Security was watching...bet he was.

So, if you are reading this Mr, bugger off and find someone else to annoy! :))

  • It's working....

    The dishwasher worketh againeth!!!

I can't tell you how we have all missed it. The man came this morning and dragged the machine all out and fiddled about. He said he unplugged all the wires and something else and bingo! it's working again. He didn't think it was the heating element but if this doesn't do the trick. I hope it does as the new element will cost us £120!!! It may be cheaper getting a new one? I dunno, but will cross that bridge should we need to at a later date.

  • That demon called Marks and Spencer!

I don't get to shop in Marks and Spencers food halls much these days. Mainly because I can't be bothered driving all the way up there and secondly I just want to buy everything on their shelves. Why is it everything looks so wonderful and naughty? I swear I put on a stone each time I go in there just by looking.

I only went in for a few bits. I had a craving for some coleslaw and seeing as I didn't have the time to make any M & S was the place to go. Then I saw some lovely yoghurts, in the trolley they went. I do like to keep a tin or 3 of their lovely curries in the cuboard for emergencies. I always have to fiddle with them so they taste more like home cooked but they a great thing to keep in the cupboard. So in went 3 tins! Then the pasta is wondeful. I love their pasta so a few packets of that went in to. Getting the picture?? Yeah this was going to cost me loadsa money.

Off I wander to the clothes section. Oh knickers, must buy some knickers....2 packets of 6 went in too. Candles? Oh yes, all my lovely smelly candles have all run out this week so yeah, why not. In go 2 candles.

Quick, run for the check out!!!!

£65 later I am sitting in the car scoffing on the wonderful cinnamon twist I found in the bakery self serve section.

    :))

  • Perhaps I need....

....to run nekkid round the park while out walking the dog!

Perhaps that will give me the "get up and go" feeling I seem to be lacking at the moment. I'm quite sure it would get me lots of attention from the men in blue.

Now actually, that could be fun ;)

  • I keep getting cut off!

    I give up! :##

Has anyone else been getting cut off in their prime this evening?? Everytime I go to comment on someones blog or post a new message here I get cut off and nothing gets posted >:XX

So, I've got the 'ump and I'm going to bed!

    So there!

    :))

  • That little blue pill......

It seems that nowdays the selling of fake Viagra is even more profitable than selling cocaine. Viagra sells for around £20 a tablet on the market and internet and counterfeiting gangs can make aboud 10,000 tablets for £33. You can imagine how much profit there is in that then.

Just think, that poor man who buys Viagra only to stop himself turning over and falling out the bed may not now be getting the effect he requires!

    ;)

  • The Puddle

I just happened to turn the channel over on the telly last night to catch some "best of" programme. The top 40 funniest moments or something, I dunno. This was the clip playing and I have to admit to liking the Vicar of Dibley quite a lot. They said that this clip was voted for as being the funniest in that series!

  • Stop the steamroller.....

I have been up about an hour now and feel as if I was run over by a steamroller during the night. My ribs hurt, my legs are painful and even my hair hurts!!

Did anyone see a steamroller in the night come and run over me??

  • Tattoooooooooooos

    Have you got a tattoo??

I got my first one done for my 40th birthday. It was a real "this is my body and I can do what I want with it" kind of thing. My mum was far from amused. Oh boy did she tell me off...even at the age of 40 she tore me off a strip or five. I loved getting it done. It wasn't anything big or outlandish, it was in a place that not everyone sees and it pleased me. I had taken ages and ages to plan what I wanted and finally got the drawing right. Off I went to the tattoo place and got it done.

Now, for my 50th I am going to get another one done. Why? Why not...and because I can :) So, like with my first tattoo I am still in the planning stage but it won't be long before it's drawn and ready to be done.

Who would have thought that at my age I would be doing things like that??? But do you know, I don't care! I can't do just what I want with my body and so...I will :))

You done anything mad with your body recently??

    ;)

  • Call for the man!!!

After my last post you can see that my tumble drier has scared the life out of me as it just smells of burning. I did actually use it just now to give the jeans a bit of a dying off. I won't be using it again though I don't think. It's far too scary.

Along with that the dishwasher broke last weekend. We had been putting stuff in in and it wasn't getting rid of all the greasy stuff and the filter was all gunged up with grease! We thought that the son had been up to his old tricks again and was pouring grease and oil down there just to get rid of it and out of my sight. But no, it seems that the heater has stopped working. It wasn't drying the stuff either so me and my detective hubby have decided that is what the problem is. Soooo, more money we thinks. The insurance has just run out, typical and as the dishwasher is 5 years old we decided that should it break it might be worth just getting a new one. The insurance was £100 for a year. Well, we shall get the man in to have a look and see what he has to say. If he stands there, scratches his head and says "hmmmm..." then perhaps a new one will be on order!

I do miss not having the washer though especially on a Sunday after a full roast has been cooked!

  • Billy Bullsh*t??

So now it's Gordon Ramseys turn to be hauled through the bushes by another Sunday newspaper!

Seems not only does he have a string of girls friends but he is also a big fibber about his footballing career! Do we believe this? Do we care?? Who knows! I know I don't. It will not make one bit of a difference to my day-to-day life, nor will it make me rush out and eat in any of Ramseys restaurants. I did once go to his place in Claridges and very nice it was too. I even have one of his cook books...signed too! Both a special treat from some very nice friends.

I am always quite amused by these stories so folks, keep 'em peeled for more exciting info that I am sure will crawl out of the woodwork pretty soon. It always does :)

I still like him though, he amuses me no end!

Read this story and see what you think!

  • It needs to be blown.....hard!

Why is it that when I have a serious amount of washing just waiting to get dry the weather changes??

Friday was lovely, the sun was out and there was a nice breeze and everything got dry. Yesterday I had 2 lots of bed linen and 4 pairs of jeans that needed drying. Out they went on the line and guess what? The sun went in and the breeze disappeared. The washing came in again still wet :( I hate that!!!

Today, no sun and a very slight breeze. I think I could fart and make more of a breeze actually! So there are the sheets and jeans all back out there again....just waiting to be blown into drying orbit. Somehow I don't think it's going to happen again today :(

  • End of month shopping blues

It's that time of the month when we all rush off to Tesco/Sainsbury/Asda/Waitrose/Aldi to fill up our larders and fridge again...yay, it's pay day!!

I hate shoppong at this time of the month. It seems that everyone is out with the contents of their pay packets newly deposited in the bank. Tesco or wherever, was like a mad house today. There were people everywhere pushing and shoving like there was no tomorrow. What is it all about??

I do try to avoid Pay day madness but sometimes, just sometimes, I couldn't avoid it this month and I had to go out and join in with the madness.

    *sigh*

  • Listen very carefully......

What is it about Paul McKenna?

About 5 years ago I went and got hypnotised by him at one of his mass gatherings. I was told there would be others there but I never dreamt there would be about 500 others. I was expecting about 20 others to be honest. Anyway, it was a really odd day.

I arrived terrified of what might happen. Would he hypnotise us all to think we were chickens and then we would go off down the Kings road stutting our chicken stuff and cock-a-doodoo-looing as we went? Perhaps he might get us to strip off and run nekkied round Chelsea! He didn't though so that was a non starter right away. As he was hypnotising us we were all told to close our eyes. I was the one who kept opening my eyes and looking at everyone else, to see what they were doing. "hah, it's not working for meee" I thought to myself as I eyed everyone else up through a half shut eye.

Whatever he did must have worked as I went on to loose 2 stone. Hurrah!

I have his "I can make you slim" book and CD that I listen to everyday just to keep the thoughts going. Trouble is.....

I lay down with my CD playing and listen to Paul talking through the headphones in his very sexy voice and well, I just want to shag his brains out! Goodness me, does he have a sexy voice or what?!?!?!
