For the 3rd time this week I have tried to get an appointment to see the doctor. Today I officially got cross! :##

All patients have been told that all we have to day is simply call the surgery on the day and we will get an appointment. Simple! So at 8.30am when the surgery opens I have called only to be told "sorry all of todays appointments have gone".
"OK, can I book one for sometime this week then please?"
"Oh no! We can't do that!!"
"Why?"
"You need to call on the day to get an appointment for the same day"
"I have done that 3 times this week and can't get an appointment. How the hell do I get to see a doctor??"
"I'll see if I can get you a pre-booked appointment"
Clicking noises on the keyboard heard coming from phone...and a sigh or three.
"I can give you an appointment next Wednesday at 7.45pm"
"I'll have it please"
"Oh sorry, I can't give you that. It's only for people who work during the day"
"That'll be me then. I'll take it then please"
"Are you sure you work??"
"'er yes, very sure and I am now starting to get cross. All I want is to do see a doctor, any doctor!!"
Line goes dead and another lady comes on the phone.
"I can offer you an appointment on Monday. What time would you like to come in?"
"Sorry? You can give me an appointment on Monday? Why didn't the other lady offer me that then?"
"Ah well, I can bend the rules you see"
Stunned silence from my end....

It really does go to show....so now I will not have to die a painful death over the weekend or live to call the surgery again trying to see a doctor!

Let me ask, do you have the same problems at your surgery too?
