I have been amused to hear this morning that the Big Bang machine went bang and promptly broke!
OK yes I do have a warped sense of humour...does this mean that the machine went bang and fell into that black hole we were told could appear??

Well, I think that the Big Bang thing was over-egged in the press the other week. They tried to commission the new collider by shooting some particles around the ring. They did not try to collide anything.
I think there was just a magnet failure.

Yeah, it's big news around here 'cos some people are losing their short-term contracts as it won't be running again until some point next year
Something went wrong with one of the big-ass magnets (that's a technical term) and loads of helium leaked into the tunnel. It didn't escape from the tunnel but it would have been rather funny if it had, everyone around here would be talking like a cartoon character
