What a wonderful day it's been today! The sun being out really makes everyone, well mostly everyone, smile and be happy. We decided that today would see us venture to the garden centre. Bad move! Every other person in London and surrounding areas seemed to have the same idea. OMG, the traffic at the garden centre was a nightmare. We eventually got in, and thankfully found a parking space and were in there like a shot....and out like a shot too! Blimey, these places put prices up on a Sunday I think. So we drove off to another garden centre nearby. Now this one was better, still busy but so much nicer and more human if you know what I mean. I got my industrial size pack of slug pellets as the dastardly slugs and snails have made a real Italian meal of my basil and have eaten it all! did they want a bottle of wine to go with it too I wonder!
Anyway, once home I decided that for me a nice afternoon reading in the shade would be perfect. Did I get to do this? Nope! It was far too hot even for me and I went inside and promptly fell asleep (again!!).
I don't know about you but sitting in the garden kind of lets you hear your neighbours....not that you want to but you just can't be off it. My neighbours are lovely but the guy is more or less deaf. He can't hear a thing! When we first moved in Mr Mouse went and knocked and told them off about how loud their telly was....exit one very red faced Mousey after being told the neighbour was hard of hearing! We used to have to sit and hold on to the the nice glass and china bits on the mantlepiece as they would vibrate off due to the loudness and vibration of next doors telly...honest, it really was that loud!!
Anyway, my beans are sprouting, the beetroot is showing through and the tomatos are alive and well...I can't want for my first harvest of the beans!
